University of Pardubice, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Department of Process Control.

After obtaining a university degree I was employed for 9 years in a research institute of the paper industry, where I was working on development and deployment of control systems of paper machines based on computers DEC PDP-11. In the 90ties I used to arrange programming equipment of a control system with PC computer for a company dealing with the reconstruction of technology in rendering plants. Since 1991 I have worked at the University of Pardubice at the Department of Process Control – first as an assistant, then as Associate Professor. In the years 2007-2012 I acted as the Head of the Department. Since 2012 I have held the post of Vice-Dean for Education of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.

The area of my professional interest is mathematical modelling and simulation of dynamic systems, adaptive and predictive control. I also concern myself with control applications using microprocessors and programming of real-time applications.

As for my pedagogical activities, my main courses are in the field of control theory and technical computing with MATLAB. In addition to that, 10 bachelor students, 18 master students and three doctoral students successfully defended their final theses under my supervision.

When it comes to hobbies, I used to like alpinism, now I just go hiking. When I find time, I like to read – I enjoy sci-fi literature, especially fantasy.
