The Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Pardubice was established in 2022 through the expansion of the University Ecological Centre, which had previously operated within the Institute of Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Chemical Technology. For two years, the Centre comprised a total of five members (two representatives from the Faculty of Economics and Administration and one representative each from the Faculty of Chemical Technology, the Faculty of Transport Engineering and the Institute of Technology and Business).
In 2025, representatives of all faculties, as well as selected rectorate departments, were invited to join the Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Pardubice. The total number of Centre members has now increased to fourteen, including two student representatives. Since its establishment, the Centre has operated under the responsibility of the Vice-Rector for Internal Affairs, assoc. prof. Ing. Liběna Černohorská, Ph.D.
