October 2018: First Aid Course
It can be very stressful to know exactly what to do when you encounter a medical emergency, even when you are in your home country, speaking your mother tongue and have some first aid knowledge.
Now, imagine the same situation abroad, in a country with different habits, culture and language!
Aware of this challenge and dedicated to helping international students and employees feel more integrated and secure in Pardubice and the Czech Republic, the Dept. of International Affairs and Development and the Faculty of Health Studies have decided to organize First Aid courses.

May 2018: Guided tour of Pardubice
On 10th May 2018 a group of foreign PhD students, Post doctoral researchers
and employees were taken on a walking tour of Pardubice.
Centred around the main city, the tour started off at the centre of the square.
Many of the sites of historical importance could be spotted from this square.

After the success of the October 2017 edition, the Office of International Affairs and Development decided to organize a presentation of study programmes, scholarships, cotutelle (co-tutoring) in France followed by a tasting of French products. The presentation will be prepared in cooperation with the Alliance Francaise-Pardubice, Campus France - Prague and with Mr. Stránský (a French teacher at the University).

June 2017: Income tax
Income tax can be a daunting topic when you work and live abroad, especially if you do not speak the language.
Besides, each country has its own system.
To help its foreign employees (postdoctoral researchers, academics), the Office of International affairs and Development organised a course in income tax return. It was organized, on 8th June 2017 at the rectorate.
A private accountant who spoke English was invited to explain the tax system in the Czech Republic and to show how to easily fill out the required tax form.
