In the case that an EU or EU applicant countries choose one of the ten Czech insurance companies (usually it is the VZP, code 111) and select an appropriate Czech insurer as an auxiliary institution (foreign student must visit the Czech insurer within their office hours) - s/he will receive the Registration – the Certificate indicating the type of eligible medical care to be reimbursed by the appropriate health insurance company.
Czech insurance companies have recently introduced yellow plastic cards for certain foreign nationals– health insurance certificates for persons with temporary or permanent address in the Czech Republic.
In cases 5 or 6, Czech physicians may charge the appropriate auxiliary health insurer in electronic way on the basis of the 10-digit registration number – please note that the tariff is different from that of Czech patients.
