Doc. Ing. Petr Doležel, Ph.D.

Petr Doležel was born in 1983 in Hranice in the Olomouc Region, where he attended the local grammar school. In 2003, he started studying at the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Pardubice. In his master’s studies, he focused on technological processes control; his master’s thesis was entitled Artificial neural networks in bioreactor modelling and controlling. In 2008, he started his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics in the field on Information, telecommunication and controlling technologies, where he defended his dissertation entitled Nonlinear system modelling and control using artificial neural networks.

From 2009, Petr Doležal was a lecturer and later senior lecturer at the Department of Process Control. In 2017, he was appointed Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied Informatics at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, and became the Vice-Dean for Research and Development at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.

He has also done many international research and professional stays. To name a few, he did internships at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Zagreb University of Applied Sciences in Croatia and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

Petr Doležel also publishes in prestigious international journals. Over the past 13 years, he has been the principal investigator or co-investigator in many research projects of prestigious grant agencies. They include projects entitled System for improvement of helicopter safety during landing and take-off in an unknown terrain, Smart system for automatic evaluation of the quality of weld joints and Smart contactless technology development for smart fencing.

He spends his free time with his wife and two daughters. Other than his family, his hobbies include travelling, football, badminton and tennis.
