Success of innovative technology by experts from the University of Pardubice
Experts from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Pardubice have made it to this year's final of the prestigious Transfera Technology Day competition. Prof. Petr Dolezel's research team was among the 11 finalists with their innovative technology Neural Vision View.
The competition evaluates scientific projects that have commercial potential and aims to introduce technologies to future investors. This facilitates the path of research innovations into practice.
"The Neural Vision View technology represents a promising result of our team's long-term research, which is already contributing to the accuracy and reliability of robotic systems in practice. At the same time, new opportunities for applications are gradually opening up, for example in the fields of security systems, biomedicine or waste management. The nomination among the finalists of the Transfera Technology Day competition is a significant recognition and confirmation of the right direction of our activities," says professor Petr Doležel, researcher and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the University of Pardubice.
The technology that changes the way robots´ point of view impressed the jury with its originality and future potential. Neural Vision View revolutionises robotic vision thanks to unique image processing that goes beyond traditional detection and classification approaches. It improves the accuracy and reduces the error rate of robotic systems in production, leading to a wider range of applications. This technology is suitable not only for industrial automation but also for security systems, quality control or biomedical data processing. It offers new possibilities in all areas using image processing, focusing on efficient, flexible and scalable solutions.
Professor Dolezel's research team has 5 members who have been intensively developing this technology for already 5 years. Currently, two partners from the commercial sphere are already using their technology. The team focuses on possible applications for autonomous robot control in manufacturing, but they also see the potential of their technology in the field of safety. The UPCE experts currently work with the company on its use in public spaces.
The University of Pardubice (UPCE) offers more than 100 study options at its 7 faculties. For example, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, prospective graduates can study Information Technology, Web Technologies, Communication Technology, Automation or Applied Electrical Engineering. Applications to study open on 1st November. For more information go to Study at UPCE.
The final of the Transfera Technology Day 2024 competition will take place next Monday, 2 December in Prague. You can watch the live stream on Transfera.cz YouTube channel.
