eng	Teacher Education for the Schools of Tomorrow	The paper presents an attempt to reflect the needs and account for the demands posed by the ongoing turbulent social development on teachers, educational institutions and, thus, on pre-graduate teacher education in an ELTE programme at the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic.
