eng Towards Key Competencies: Cultural Aspects of English Language Teaching in Main Curricular Documents The paper presents some issues related to the ongoing curricular reform in the Czech Republic. The focus is on cultural aspects of foreign language teaching/learning as stated in key curricular documents. The analysis is carried out both at the state and the school level of the documents. The perspective of an English language teacher is applied and the discussion is centred on a potential of teaching culture as a means of developing some of the key competencies of the school children.
