Microlearning představuje obecnější koncept, který se objevuje v současných debatách na téma nakládání s informacemi ze strany nové generace studentů a jehož potenciál je rovněž široce diskutován v oblasti firemního vzdělávání. Tento článek je pokusem zabývat se touto problematikou podrobněji a jeho cílem je tedy analyzovat některé specifické aspekty microlearningu v rámci učení se anglického jazyka v oblasti vysokoškolského vzdělávání. Analýza je podořena empirickými daty, získanými prostřednictvím využití microlearningu jako obecného principu pro implementaci některých strategií e-learningu, m-learningu či mobile learningu v rámci kurzů anglického jazyka, vyučovaných v univerzitním kontextu. Jedná se např. o interaktivní platformu Kahoot, výukovou aplikaci Duolingo a sociální síť Instagram.
eng Microlearning in Foreign Language Courses: a Threat or a Promise? Microlearning represents a broad concept which has been emerging in recent debates on the nature of dealing with information by the new generations of learners, and besides, its potential is currently being widely discussed in the area of corporate learning and development. This paper attempts to address this particular issue and thus, its aim is to analyse some specific aspects of the phenomenon of microlearning within the field of English language learning in the area of higher education. The analysis is supported by means of providing empirical data on microlearning, used as an underlying principle of implementing some e-learning, mobile learning and blended learning strategies into the English language courses taught at the university level, such as the interactive platform Kahoot, the language learning app Duolingo and the social network Instagram. microlearning; English language teaching; e-learning; m-learning
