Yet, a change has been recognised as a marker of development even long before Heraclites uttered his famous "Panta rei". The pressing need to mention and analyse changes that are happening around us may however signalise sometning more than just a confirmation of an ancient truth: how far has the evolution gone and are we still a part of it or has the technical development completely disabled human race in its capability to co-exist together with its environment? How much are we still able to understand the culture that is supposed to represent us in the growingly globalised and culturally mixed world, the relativism of which has made meaning-making so much more problematic? Such questions are, of course, impossible to answer in a simple way, yet there is a possibility which offers itself in juxtaposition to the phenomenon of change - continuity.
