eng	Mastering the Intricacies of English Modal Verbs	As one modal verb allows for different meanings and uses, students often experience problems with understanding epistemic and deontic modality and are not aware of the subtle changes o meaning. The workshop examines in particular the main difficulties students have with choosing the appropriate modal verb to express th intended meaning, with recognizing categories of modality, and with mastering the complexities of modality. The workshop discusses teaching modals through engaging students in communicative activities and explores some ways in which athentic texts can be adapted for classroom use.	modal verbs;meanings;uses;categories of modality
