eng	The Role of an Official Interpreter Reflected in an ESP Course	This article focuses on a course in English for specific purposes taught at the Language Centre of the University of Pardubice. A brief insight into the history of interpreting is presented in the introduction. The second part describes the ESP course structure, objectives, syllabus and requirements for the students, giving an overview of the reference literature. The majority of the article's focus is on the role of an official interpreter in regards to the terminology required for performing the profession effectively. The article gives an overview of the essential documents for translation and the types of activities with which an interpreter is most frequently involved.
