eng Ken Kalfus's Literary Revision of the September Events Perhaps nothing in recent history has caused greater disturbance in the issues of multiculturalism than the September days of 2001. Prose writers, too, have taken part in reflecting upon the catastrophe, creating narratives with certain recurring features including overt sentimentalism. In his last novel "A Disorder Peculiar to the Country" (2006), Ken Kalfus joins other writers working the events into their stories. Yet, his approach reveals a somewhat new strategy. This paper explores the work with the intention of exposing the author´s tendency to avoid clichéd pathos through satire and his attention to the state of ethnic pluralism after 9/11. 9/11 Ken Kalfus;satire
