Videomapping, a night children trail through the campus or key ringing to commemorate November 89: these are just a few events happening at the University of Pardubice this week. The University looks back at its 70th anniversary and invites its students, alumni and the general public to join in.

We would like to invite our students, employees and mainly Pardubice citizens to a special videomapping event to remember the 70-year history and present days of the University. For the first time, the visual show will offer to the public an unconventional view of the modern building of the Faculty of Chemical Technology – the winner of the Grand Prix for architecture. Videomapping will be projected on the faculty building on 11 November from 7 to 9 p.m.

Before the videomapping, the campus will be visited by Saint Martin on the white horse to remind us of the old 11 November´s tradition. Children will enjoy the adventurous scientific campus trail with refreshments at the Faculty of Chemical Technology from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.

The traditional Key Ringing at the University Auditorium will bring back the 1989 events, when ringing the keys symbolised the end of the totalitarian regime. The event starts on 12 November at 7 p.m. at the memorial stone near the Aula. The concert by the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra titled “Students for Freedom and Democracy” starts in the Aula at 7:30 p.m.

The University will also celebrate the International Student Day by putting you in motion. We prepared for the public an attractive Night Paired Runing Activity in the campus to start on 15 November. The pairs take 4 turns at a kilometre-long track. The Sports Day for university students and employees starts on 16 November by offering the campus sports facilities to try out power yoga, squash, badminton, bodyfit, rowing and have a game of table tennis or volleyball.

Those who decide to see the campus can take a view of the out-of-door exhibition of the University and its faculties history showing the photos made by students and employees. The panels are located between the Aula and Halls of Residence.

The events remembering the 70th anniversary could not be carried out last year due the pandemics. It was only this fall, when the first University Run could start in the City centre. The Faculty of Chemical Technology unveiled the gift from the City – a metal statue - with a year-long delay. After 42 years, the statue by academic sculptor Luboš Moravec symbolically moved from the Pardubice City Centre to the front of the oldest out of the seven faculties.
