Mehran is a researcher in the department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Pardubice. His research is focused on catalysis and specifically the conversion of light alkanes to olefins, which are considered to be a more valuable feedstock. The target group for him is crucial industrial reactions with high energy demand and significant carbon dioxide emissions, and the main goal is to invent or optimize catalytic systems to decrease the required energy and prevent carbon pollution. He also teaches in laboratories for master and bachelor students.

In addition to scientific work, Mehran also collaborates with the University of Pardubice and the EURAXESS organization for the internationalization of the university and for helping foreign researchers in the Czech Republic.

His area of interest outside of the university is a wide range of topics, from music, movies, poetry, and history to different sports, traveling, and international events.

On the basis of his experience, Mehran, as a mentor, can share his knowledge about how to work and study as a Ph.D. student or a postdoctoral researcher in the university and faculty of chemical technology, dealing with authorities, social life in Pardubice and Czech Republic, accommodation, student organizations and services, sports activities, university facilities, and cultural life.

His motto is ‘find a way or build a way’.
