Katedra polygrafie a fotofyziky je už řadu let aktivním členem několika evropských i celosvětových organizací sdružujících vysokoškolská a výzkumná pracoviště v oboru polygrafie: IARIGAI (International Association of Research Organisations for the Printing, Information and Communication Industries), TAGA (Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, USA), International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts, Technology and Management, a IS&T (The Society for Imaging Science and Technology, USA). Podílí se i na evropském projektu Socrates /Erasmus, v rámci nějž se každoročně uskuteční jednosemestrální studijní stáž 2 studentů oboru Polygrafie na Technische Universität Chemnitz, Institut für Print- und Medientechnik v Německu. Možnost stáží se nabízí na řadě dalších evropských polygrafických vysokých škol, se kterými katedra polygrafie a fotofyziky spolupracuje. V minulých letech tak naši studenti absolvovali studijní pobyty např. v Norsku (Norwegian Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Trondheim), v roce 2002 v Anglii (School of Printing and Publishing, London College of Printing and Distributive Trades, The London Institute ) a v Austrálii (Australian Pulp and Paper Institute).
