Application Procedure for Admission to the Bachelor Programme “Transport Technology and Communications“ (branches of study accredited in English)
in the Academic Year 2015/2016

Level of qualification: Bachelor (abbr. Bc. )

Standard length of study: 3 years

Mode of study: full-time

Expected number of accepted applicants: 30 (10 in each of the study fields)


a) Application Submission

The deadline for submitting applications for the 2015/2016 academic year is April 30, 2015. It is possible to submit only one application into this study programme.

The applicant is obliged to submit the completed and signed application form to the following address:

The applicant is obliged to enclose a certified copy of the secondary education certificate, a proof of nostrification of the secondary education (i.e. recognition by the Czech government authorities - general information about nostrification can be found on, curriculum vitae, copy
of a passport, and two passport photographs. All enclosed documents which are not originally in Czech or English must be translated into one of these languages and the translation must be certified.  Furthermore, the applicant is obliged to attach to the application a proof
of an administrative fee payment. The fee is 20 EUR.

An application submitted without the above mentioned documents or an insufficiently filled-in application will not be registered and the applicant will be asked for immediate rectification. If the applicant doesn`t rectify the defects within the required time, he will not be able to participate in the selection procedure. The administrative fee is non-refundable.
A certificate regarding the applicant`s health condition is not required.


b) Entrance Examination

Once the application is registered and all the required documents submitted, the applicant will be invited to take an entrance examination. The exam is written and consists of two parts – mathematics and English language. The level of English language test is B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). By 4 May 2015 at the latest, the registered applicant will be contacted by an administrator from the study department and a term for sending an admission test via email will be arranged. The applicant will be sent 4 files in total: file 1 =test in mathematics, file 2 = test in English, file 3 = mathematics answer sheet, file 4 = English answer sheet. He will be given a specified amount of time to complete the tests and return the answer sheets.  In the event the applicant does not return the answer sheets in the allotted time, the entrance examination will be considered failed. The applicant will be informed about the examination results within 5 workdays from the day of the exam. Both tests are mandatory for all applicants.


c) Taking Decision on Acceptance

At most, a total of 10 applicants will be accepted into each of the offered branches of study based
on their overall ranking.


d) Notice of Acceptance

A written confirmation from the dean of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty in regards to the applicant`s acceptance will be sent to the applicant via registered mail within 30 days from the entrance examination date.


e) Review Proceedings

According to the §50, par. 7 of Act no. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on  Amendments and Supplements to some other Acts (the Higher Education  Act) as resulting from Amendments , the applicant who has not been accepted or his authorized representative may apply for a review of the resolution within 30 days from the delivery day of the resolution which should be sent to the attention of the dean of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty.


f) Assessment and Payment of Tuition Fee

The tuition fee is set to 2400 EUR per academic year.  The applicant is obliged to pay the full amount via bank transfer and send the original confirmation of payment by 30 June 2015 to the Study Department of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty , University of Pardubice at the address Studentská 95, 532 10 Pardubice, Czech Republic. The confirmation of acceptance and confirmation
of accommodation – documents which are required for a long-term visa application – will be sent to the student after the tuition fee is paid. Once paid, the tuition fee is returnable only after submitting the confirmation of visa denial issued by the authorized Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Study Department of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty.

g) Registration of Study

The student is obliged to arrive in person at the Study department of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty on the day of the registration, which is set for the week between 21 and 25 September 2015. In the event the student does not register as required and does not excuse his absence within 5 workdays, he will not be registered for study.


h) Deferment of Study

It is not possible to apply for the deferment of study.
