The purpose of the project Educational and Research Centre in Transport is:
  • creation of strategically important technical Centre for developing educational and research activities of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty as the only higher education department of this nature in the whole region
  • utilization of the most advanced available equipment in the field of transport structures and transport means for improving education of Master and Doctoral study programmes in relation to needs of companies operating in the region in the  field of transport and testing
  • development of multi-disciplinarity of creative and educational  activities in the technical and technological branches in the field of material engineering
Specialization:
  • Transport structures (section DS)
  • Transport means – rail vehicles (section DP-KV)
  • Transport means – road vehicles (section DP-SV)
  • Transport means – measurements and diagnostic (section DP-D)
  • Transport means – electrical engineering, electronics and control systems (section DP-E)
  • Materials and Mechanics (section MM)
  • Dynamic test stand (section DZS)

 Capacity:

  • 3 classrooms  for  up to 120 students, one of them is specialized
  • 22 light and heavy laboratories for up to 130 students
  • facilities for education and academic staff

 Equipment:

  • laboratory equipment for transport structures and transport means material engineeering, hydraulics and electric engineering,
  • dynamic test stand
  • press for bending and strenght tests
  • folding platform for vehicles
  • instrumented impact hammer
  • dynamometer

 Education and research technology dealing with:

  • properties of building materials, transport structures, geological and geotechnical effects on transport structrures
  • theory of transport means in terms of structure, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrronics
  • research on material fatigue properties, its abrasion, limit states and service life
  • experimental research  and testing of static and dynamic properties of construction and their parts in laboratory conditions corresponding to the real operational behavior
