SCIENTIFIC PROFILE
He graduated (MSc.) from University of Pardubice in 1998 under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miloš Sedlák. Then he was an internal PhD student at the Department of Organic Chemistry and defended his PhD Thesis entitled "Kinetics and Mechanism of Cyclisation Reaction Giving Derivatives of Quinazoline-4-one and 4-thione"in 2001. Since 2001 he is working at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice where he obtained his habilitation in 2006 (habilitation thesis „Acid-base Catalysed Reaction Leading to Heterocyclic Compounds Containing Nitrogen and Sulfur“).
   He is interested in synthesis of the model organic compounds (especially heterocyclic), reaction kinetics and mechanistic studies in water and organic solvents. In 2006 he worked three months as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield in Great Britain. He is a member of the Czech Chemical Society since 1998. In 2007 he won the Alfred Bader Prize for Organic Chemistry. He is an author or co-author author of 35 papers in international impacted journals and 6 papers in national journals (2009).
 
 
PEDAGOGICAL PROFILE
He is teaching Physical Organic Chemistry for graduate and PhD students. He also participates in teaching of Organic chemistry (seminars, laboratories) for undergraduate students.
