Erasmus+ Day event took place on the 4th of March at the University of Pardubice. This all-day event was organized by the International Affairs and Development Department and it was held in the foyer of the Faculty of Chemical Technology.
More than 90 students presented their experience with study abroad or work abroad programmes during the day. Over thirty stands were available and served as places where University of Pardubice students could ask for information. Students who studied abroad thanks to the Erasmus programme promoted the universities and countries they visited using leaflets, posters, photographs, or postcards. Every stand offered useful information on study or work visits, those interested had a chance to learn about organization of studies at the various host universities, about available facilities and opportunities for incoming students, and about anything else the universities have to offer.
Food tasting and presentation of participating universities
Among other things, students thinking about studying abroad had a chance to learn about places worth visiting or local dos and don’ts. The presenters used their own photographs taken during their visits to add to authenticity. Some stands even offered tasting of local food. One of the stands was also devoted to the Buddy System Pardubice, a group of volunteers who help incoming international students. The employees of the International Affairs and Development Department at their stand provided detailed information on study abroad opportunities within the Erasmus+ and CEEPUS programmes.
Throughout the whole day, a classroom located next to the foyer was used for university presentations – Riga Technical University in Latvia, Universidad de Huelva in Spain, Universitet i Agder and Gjovik University College in Norway, or Université de Strasbourg in France were introduced.
Photo contest and Best stand contest
A photo contest was also held during Erasmus+ Day 2015. Students entered their photographs in the competition in advance and the most interesting ones along with three winners were awarded at the end of the event. The winning photographs are: David Kaplan’s “Nice party every day” in the category Student life, Miriam Jíšová’s “Erasmus in Spain” in the category Nature and Gabriela Studená won the category People with her photograph “Mirroring”. Zuzana Pleskačová received a special award for her photograph “View”, which received the highest number of “likes” on the university Facebook page.
Best stands were also awarded and received prizes. Most successful stands were those promoting our partnering universities, namely Université Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3 (France), Istanbul Üniversitesi (Turkey), Tartu Ulikool (Estonia) and Univerza v Ljubljani (Slovenia).
International Affairs and Development Department would like to thank all presenters, all students and employees who participated and helped with organization.
