Research Objectives

getting an overall view of the sources concerning history in the archives and museums of the region • gaining deeper insight into topical historical themes (the history of everyday life, gender history, the history of upbringing from the child’s point of view, the history of money circulation, egodocuments as historical sources) • designing a “Virtual Museum of Childhood and a Child” (an international project – cooperation with the University of Klagenfurt) • mapping and analysing sociological and ethnographic development in specific locations (longitudinal research) • promoting inter- and multi-cultural topics in educational sciences • analysing decentralization processes in the Czech educational system • the study of alternative trends in education: school and out-of-school education in the Czech Republic in its social and historical context • developing effective forms of foreign language teacher education
