Regional development research including the economic, social, environmental and ethical aspects, measurable effects of regional development and the monitoring of the results, and public administration functioning at regional and local levels.

Financing and financial flows within the region, banking and insurance, influence of the business sphere and the growth of capital strength.

Information links within regions and information support for regional development, informatics in public administration, GIS application, artificial and computer intelligence, and process modelling within regions.

 

Research Objectives

the analysis of factors with synergic impact on regional development with an emphasis on the effectiveness of municipal and regional management, decision-making reliability, marketing in public administration and public administration ethics the study of financial flows from counties to municipalities in order to clarify financial transfers between county and municipal bodies and to evaluate the impact of such transfers while providing high quality public administration service the comprehensive analysis and synthesis of regional development determinants in the Czech Republic and preparing scenarios for future development the definition and quantification of the factors that affect the major areas of regional development, i.e. economic, social, demographic, environmental and transport the setting of indicators designed for the description of individual development factors and for the quantification of their relations, both in highly specific areas and within the complex of mutual relations among the individual areas in order to cover all the regional development determinants both the partial and comprehensive analysis of empirical data of individual regions and experiment modeling and simulations the production of a draft set of indicators for  the determination of individual factors and tools required for analysis, simulations and planning of regional development and drawing up recommendations for regional policy proposals for decision-making processes using information and communication technologies, including geo -informatics and artificial and computer intelligence building up know how resources in order to enhance the society of knowledge
