Research
Aimed preparation of special compounds and materials and the investigation of their physical and chemical properties and supramolecular structures.
Advanced analytical and separation methods and their application in the diagnostics and the technology of animate and inanimate materials.
Research Objectives
goal-directed preparation of special organometallic compounds, special energetic materials and supramolecular structure systems, particularly the study of composite materials and their constituents – polymeric as well as inorganic matrices, both inorganic and organic pigments and fillers, particle shaped and fibrous reinforcement systems • orientation to special compounds and inorganic, organometallic, organic and polymeric materials, including construction composite materials, environmentally friendly materials for surface finishing, bioactive materials, compounds and materials for homogeneous and heterogeneous catalyses, optoelectronics • a deep understanding of intramolecular interactions, their goal-directed modification and subsequent application of the findings to the construction of new entities including new ways of preparation • a deeper understanding of intermolecular interactions, i.e. in the preparation of condensed or quasicondensed systems, and of the role of intramolecular and intermolecular interactions in the formation of such systems, and the determination of their physico-chemical properties • local (point) defect states that significantly affect the reactivity of mentioned entities or compounds and their physico-chemical properties • the improvement of modern analytical control methods, including electrochemical methods applicable in the identification of organic and inorganic substances • enzymatic reaction studies and the development of bioaffinity microreactors • the study of microbiological techniques in the field of foodstuff control and the monitoring of selected pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms • the study of kinetics and the reaction mechanism of biotransformations of higher alcohols by means of immobilised microorganisms in reactors of various types (batch, fed-batch, continuous) with a mathematical description of the reaction models • both experimental and theoretical analysis concerning the general process characteristics of membrane processes • the applications of membrane separations for the purification and liquidation of wastewater including the methods of liquidation of outlet streams contaminated with e.g. heavy metals, solvents etc.
