Born in 1950, graduated at the Technical University of Liberec in1973. He worked as a technologist and later as the head of testing laboratory in Vigona Svitavy. He gained his managerial experience as the director and then as the general director of the Junior Centre, which was supervised by the Czech Children and Youth Fund. In the years 1994-1996, he worked as the executive director of the Everwood Pardubice, a.s. He joined the University in August 1996 in a position of the director of the University Students Halls of Residence. Since April 1997, he has been working at a position of the University Bursar being in charge of financial and technical departments and services that support the main educational and research University activities.
