First Announcement – Call for Contributions
The Colloquium will be organized in connection with the comparative project of study methods used in
restoration/conservation and syllybus of study at prestigious educational institutions in Europe. The summary
is implemented as a part of the project VpK – Restorers for the European practice (CZ.1.07/2.2.00/07-0140)
Duration of the Colloquium: 2 days
Date of the Colloquium: June 1st- 2nd 2011
Maximum duration of a paper: 20 minutes
Language: Czech, English
Topic areas
- Trends in contemporary university education in the context of restoration approaches in heritage preservation
- Training objectives and ways of achieving these objectives at individual universities
- Alternative forms of education for conservators/restorers
- Opportunities of cooperation and exchange of information and knowledge across individual European work places – status quo, future perspectives
- General qualifications required for the work of a professional conservator/restorer
- Qualification requirements for a restorer from the side of state institutions for heritage preservation

Key strategies of dynamic management of education
Participants are kindly asked for submitting the title of their paper and a brief abstract of approx. 800-1000 characters.

Abstracts
Abstracts of completed or proposed research in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas. The abstract for proposed research should include research objectives, proposed methodology, and a discussion of expected outcomes. -
Student Papers
Research done by students in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas. -
Case Studies
Case studies in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas. -
Work-in-Progress Reports or Proposals for Future Research
Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas. -
Reports on Issues Related to Teaching
Reports related to innovative instruction techniques or research related to teaching in any of the topic areas listed above or related areas.
