The PhD study programme is designed to train highly qualified specialists with the necessary qualifications to design, implement, professionally develop and apply information and communication technology (ICT), further to use modern PC methods when making decisions. Graduates are qualified in the flow of information and economic processes in different organizations and institutions and have got the knowledge in the field of the information and communication technologies (ICT) and its possible creative applications. They are ready for further creative scientific work in the appropriate branch. Graduates of PhD study programmes can be responsible for scientific activity or pedagogic activity in the sphere of universities or specialized agencies. They are also able to control the process of design and creation of the information system (IS) including data and information backup and they know how to set up and apply Global Information System (GIS) to support deciding in all levels of public administration.

This study course is built upon two Fundamentals scientific fields: „Public Economics“ and „Regional Economics“. The PhD study programme Economic Policy and Administration hold within the field of study Regional and Public Economics is designed to provide highly qualified specialists with the ability to participate in the process of control in public sector or various regions. Graduates acquire adequate level of economic knowledge together with necessary theoretic knowledge in economics, economy and management with an emphasis on public sector and region. Graduates are determined to work in top managing positions in the field of public sector – in the administration and in regional self-governing organizations as well as in economic subjects of the public sector. They can also achieve responsible positions in diverse authorities and institutions of the European Union.
