The PhD (Honours) Organic Technology degree offered by the Department of Organic Technology is at minimum a three year course streaming a previous Ms courses Chemistry and Technical Chemistry. It provides the theoretical and practical subjects of modern technology of organic compounds, esp. organic dyes and pigments, drugs, biologically active compounds and their intermediates. Molecular modelling, photochemistry, photo physic and basic course in quantum chemistry complement these studies which the student chooses from the very vide range of subjects offered throughout the University. The result is a highest degree that is of immediate relevance to an industry of fine chemicals manufacture, research institutes and universities.
