International cooperation
For a number of years, the Department of Graphic Arts and Photophysics (DGAP) has been an active member of several European and world organisations associating universities and research workplaces in the area of printing: IARIGAI (International Association of Research Organisations for the Printing, Information and Communication Industries), TAGA (Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, USA), International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts, Technology and Management, and IS&T (The Society for Imaging Science and Technology, USA). DGAP also participates in the European project Socrates/Erasmus, in the framework of which, a one-term course in the area of printing is arranged for two students majoring in “Graphic Arts” each year at Technische Universität Chemnitz, Institut für Print- und Medientechnik , Germany . Possibilities of short visits are also offered by a number of other European printing universities with which DGAP cooperates. In recent years, our students took courses e.g. in Norway (Norwegian Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Trondheim), in 2002 in Great Britain (School of Printing and Publishing, London College of Printing and Distributive Trades, The London Institute) and in Australia (Australian Pulp and Paper Institute).
